The Board of the OCBR, and all connected with Late Antique and Byzantine Studies and related fields, are devastated by the news of the passing of Elizabeth Jeffreys. Elizabeth was Bywater and Sotheby Professor of Medieval and Modern Greek Language and Literature between 1996 and her retirement in 2006. She was not only a wonderful scholar and a central figure in our community, but a much loved one too. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her beloved husband and her family. She will be greatly missed; Rest in Peace, dear Elizabeth.
